We include a bathroom in the escape room so they don't have to worry about having to go and the escape room door is glass so we can ease any anxiety a kid might have about being in a locked room.Īdditionally, there is a webcam in the room that casts to a TV in the waiting area, so parents can watch their kid's progress in the room. Safety and nerves is another issue with kids that we try to tackle with grace. We don't want a kid leaving the room saying they didn't get to unlock something. It's our trade secret and we are quite proud of how well it works. We also have the room designed to prevent one kid from taking over and hogging all the glory. It takes skill to pose just the right questions to kids so they can achieve that "eureka" moment! We never simply hand them all the answers, but we do carefully ensure that they are always a success in the end. That is why we always have a Game Master in the room to help the kids find the solutions they are looking for. We are parents who have run summer camps, classes, and parties for kids for many years and we know how kids think! Kids are super clever, but they aren't quite ready for the level of complexity and subtlety that adult escape rooms require. When they finally escape the room, we give parents an opportunity to take a group photo with our various signs and props.

They then enter the room, the timer starts, the glass door to the room is shut and locked, and the kids have 45 minutes to solve a series of challenges.

When guests arrive, they are given a brief explanation about how to play, what types of locks are used, keys to succeeding, pitfalls to avoid, off-limits areas, and then a video is shown that sets the scene for their challenge. It is a timed, thrilling "brain-game" scenario where kids to exercise their critical thinking muscles, work as a team, and unlock lots of different devices in order to reach a common goal (escaping the room). It is a special room that has hidden keys, lockboxes, safes, locks, and clues in it. Masks are recommended for participants but not mandatory. The escape room will be cleaned and sanitized as always between each group experience.
